Ancient drama

The history of Western drama starts in ancient Greece, particularly in Athens. The tragedies and comedies of ancient Greece and the comedies of ancient Rome laid the foundation for the performing arts and even the television shows we watch today. In this research field, we study these magnificent plays in antiquity and throughout the 2,500 years leading up to the present day.
